With more than 35 years in the airline sector, Tony brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his role as Versilia’s Chairman.
Tony’s career in aviation began with British Airways in pricing and sales. He later spent 4 years in New York co-ordinating BA’s investment in USAir. After a spell at Gulf Air negotiating codeshare agreements and alliances, he joined British Midland as Director of Corporate Affairs and in 2002 founded and built the low-cost carrier, bmibaby.
He moved on to become CEO and President of Tiger Airways in Singapore, building the airline from scratch and leading the company to a successful IPO in 2010. Thereafter he joined Irelandia Aviation as COO and Partner, developing their portfolio of investments in the low-cost carrier market. He is currently working with Mesa Airlines to develop a new regional airline based in Europe.
Tony has held Non-Executive roles with a number of airlines including Viva Colombia, Viva Aerobus and Sky West (Australia); alongside NED appointments in companies associated with tourism, aviation, education and the arts.
Tony holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration and is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
