Profile of Neale Jouques

Neale has extensive experience in supply chain, logistics and operations in the most austere and challenging of environments. He served as an officer in the British Army for 23 years, planning, implementing and sustaining British military deployments into Iraq and Afghanistan and several tours in the Balkans. He also worked in UK Central Government, controlling military budgets and programmes.

He left the Army to move to Stansted Airport, initially as Head of Engineering and Logistics before becoming Terminal General Manager responsible for the complete customer experience. He coordinated the reception of Heads of State for the G20 summit in 2009.

Neale joined Gate Retail Onboard (GRO) in 2010 as MD for the UK and managed the easyJet retail concession, whilst supporting the creation and development of GRO as a brand and gategroup’s partnership in India. In 2012, his role expanded to include direct support to all GRO’s European airlines. Neale led successful bids to both retain the easyJet contract and win the TUI retail business.

The inside track: With various key accounts at GRO – I was responsible overall for the European network – so I understand the logistics challenges they face as they open new bases in hard-to-reach locations.

Loves: Getting outdoors, walking and running, especially in the Highlands of Scotland. I’ve done a few ultra races before and I quite fancy doing the Antarctic Ice Marathon.

They say

He is the one who likes to play the devils advocate within the team.”
